According to old folklore, there was a legend of a bride who drowned in the waters of a creek in Tai Po. The road directly above the Bride’s Pool was nicknamed by locals as the “deadly curve”, due to an unusually high amount of fatal car accidents taken place over the years. Abandoned spirit tablets have been seen under the shade of the trees, and even cremated remains in the pool itself. Urban legend warns against coming to Bride’s Pool at night, as some believe evil spirits in the water are still looking for anyone to join them.
